We hope you've been enjoying our series of Prom posts, so we're starting another ongoing series about local news and events that take place in our hometown (Moreno Valley and Riverside areas). Occasionally we may venture out to other areas of the Inland Empire too.
For our first post in the series, we're recognizing the Riverside Annual Recognition Awards Gala which will take place on April 26th, 2016. According to the website linked above, among those to be honored at the ceremony is Gary and Sheila Locke, long time Band Directors for the Riverside City College Marching Band. The Band is well known, has won many Championships, and performed in various parades, film and television shows as well as commercials. They wear traditional band uniforms, and on occasion wear performance themed costumes as demonstrated in the video below. Food for thought...Band Uniforms have military origins. Did you know that?
