Since the Golden Globes took place on January 7th, we thought it only befitting to take a look at some of the fashion. In particular, we're focusing on the past and present Golden Globe Ambassadors, or as they were previously titled, Miss Golden Globe. Didn't know there was such a thing? Neither did we until the title change created an interesting story line that was attached to this year's nomination announcements. According to the Golden Globes website, only the children of well known actors are selected for the role to "assist" during the event.
Taking a look back at some of the fashion, Greer Grammar was Miss Golden Globe in 2015. She dazzled in a Lorena Sarbu gown, styled by Kelly Johnson.
2016 saw comedian Jamie Foxx's daughter Corinne Foxx take her turn as Miss Golden Globe. She strutted the red carpet in a gown designed by Paolo Sebastian, this according to stylist Kelly Johnson's instagram feed.
2017 was a treat when Sylvester Stallone's 3 daughters took the role. Dressed in long black gowns that showed off their slender silhouettes, they chose an alternative to the glitz and glamed up gowns of their predecessors.
And now with the new title of Golden Globe Ambassador, it's the Rock's daughter Simone Garcia Johnson's time in the spotlight. The common thread here? Most of them are models. Deemed the "next generation," it will be interesting to see whether they pursue the acting path their parents took. Based on a recent article in the Hollywood Reporter, Simone has no such plans. Here she is when the announcement was made, and on the night of the event. We like the black form fitting dress she wore. We'll be keeping an eye out to see if she changes course and does decide to follow in her father's footsteps.
