Did you happen to pick up the September 30th 2016 issue of the Hollywood Reporter? We got a real treat after going to the mailbox and finding the issue with Kerry Washington and Christian Louboutin posed on the cover. Perfect inspiration to do another Red Carpet Designers Spotlight. The issue is full of style goodies, including a spread of fabulous full length photos of Red Carpet dresses worn at the recent Emmy Awards. Style Editors Carol McColgin, Booth Moore, and Jane Carlson really outdid themselves with their style articles, which included a Top 25 Red Carpet Designers list.
With such a challenging list to choose from, it was hard to pick just one to spotlight. We settled on the iconic fashion house Carolina Herrera. Solely based on our love of David Needleman's photograph showing Kiernan Shipka in a formal denim dress. How often do you see denim on the red carpet? Only a fashion powerhouse like Herrera could pull off such a design so successfully.
In the photo, Herrera is alongside actress Kiernan Shipka. Only one of several celebs that have donned her elegant designs. Some of the others include Lupita Nyong'o, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Renee Zelwegger, Blake Lively, Lady Gaga, Penelope Cruz, and Sophie Turner. You can oooohh and aaahhh like you were attending the red carpet events in the Instagram pics below. With dresses like these, it's evident that Herrera's iconic designs are here to stay for now, and in the foreseeable future.
