How many times have you walked through the mall, found the perfect outfit, then looked at the price tag only to find that it was way too expensive? We all know money can be tight sometimes. So if you're on a tight budget, we've got the perfect solution. From the mall, head straight to GoodWill or your local thrift store. You can buy a used dress and make simple alterations to it to suit your style. And voila! Your new outfit. In a previous post, we showed you how to Upcylce Your Dress. This time we're showing you before and after pictures of a simple summer dress that we altered to be more figure flattering. We started by adding ruching to the front, altering the scoop neckline into a V-neck. Next, we sewed a curved seam under the bust line and tacked down the side with hand stitching to make it figure flattering. These easy, small changes instantly makes a new outfit. You can see in the before picture that the dress was very bland and unappealing. Our alterations give it added texture and a more flattering look. You can easily do the same. All it takes is a little time and imagination. If you've ever upcycled a dress, we'd love to see it. Let us know in the comments so we can share it with our readers.
