Dramatic sleeves are trending. Who doesn't love a simple, classic dress or blouse with a unique pair of dramatic sleeves to set the outfit off just right? This week's video of the week that we found while YouTube surfing shows you how to make a basic sleeve pattern. Comes in pretty handy if you're looking for a stepping stone to use, to add dramatic sleeves to your garment. Have you already made any projects with dramatic sleeves? If so, we'd love to hear about it. Let us know in the comments below.

We're taking a look back at some of our favorite pics from some of their past fashion. This week's video of the week shows you how to knit a scarf. It's a great video we found on YouTube for beginners. What we like about it is that it takes you step by step through the process of casting on, knitting, and casting off. You will be able to make a scarf from start to finish. We are giving it a try and have started a scarf project with some yarn we had stashed away. Perhaps we'll share photos in a later post and in the mean time, hope you share your photos in the comments below. We'd love to see what you learn and make!
We're still gearing up for the 2017 Emmys, and covering all things Emmys. Most people are probably aware that they will air Sunday September 17th (5pm - 8pm) on CBS, hosted by Stephen Colbert. But we've got an extra tidbit for you. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards have already occurred and will air on Saturday September 16th at 8pm on FXX.
This week's Video Of The Week shows you how to make a dress form. If you're like us and you created one with duct tape, you're probably wishing you could make one that's a bit more professional. We were delighted to find this video tutorial that shows you how to do just that! All you have to do is buy the pattern and materials, then follow the tutorial. Seems pretty simple right?? We haven't tried it but if you do attempt to make one, let us know. We'd love to hear how it turns out. We're making a tools/supply list of sewing supplies that we need to make all of our sewing projects easier. We benefited from watching this YouTube video and learning about the different supplies that are useful for sewers. Top of our list? A Rotary Cutter. I don't know about you but cutting fabric is just so time consuming with scissors. The rotary cutter seems like it would make things go so much quicker. So on our next trip to Jo-Anns, we're hoping to purchase one. Which tools do you use that you find are essential to your sewing projects? We want to know. Shout it out in the comments and check back in next week . . . same time, same place for the next Video Of The Week. |
