If you weren't able to travel to the Cannes Film Festival, don't worry, you're not alone. We weren't either. We happened to catch Blake Lively on Live! With Kelly one morning, she's one of the stars of Woody Allen's movie Cafe Society which premiered there and is now playing everywhere. Set in the 1930's, Costume Designer Suzy Benzinger chose Chanel to recreate the vintage looks in the film. We loved the soft white textured dress that actress Kristen Stewart wore in the film. The shoulder slit tied with a bow adds a soft detail with a hint of sexiness.
Watch the trailer to check it out and see some of the beautiful vintage costumes.

Still trying to decide how to complete your summer wardrobe? Hopefully you started with our summer dress trends post. One of the trends for the summer is to show off a little shoulder. So once again, we're sharing a cool video from one of our favorite's, April's "Thrifted Transformations" YouTube show. Hopefully you'll follow her tutorial to create a top for the summer. We'll be making one in the future so tune in, and share what you've made with us so we can feature it in a future post! And remember to sign up for our Newsletter in the sidebar! Do you have makeup, mascara, brushes, and toiletries scattered around your room or bathroom, making it hard to stay organized? May we suggest another option for you. When surfing Youtube, we came across a tutorial for a wristlet/cosmetic bag from The Crafty Gemini. We whipped one up , using a curtain purchased at Goodwill, whose fabric resembled a canvas type material. It was pretty simple to make, and all you need is the fabric, thread, batting, and zipper. The benefit of buying your materials from Goodwill is that you pay much less than buying at the major fabric stores. So if you're on a strict budget, find a large enough item made of a canvas type fabric. Also look for an article of clothing that has a long enough zipper in a matching color, and purchase them both from Goodwill and you'll save a lot of money. As a tip, it's better to have too long of a zipper than too short because you can always shorten the zipper. So with no further ado, here's the rundown of our experience making it.
This week we've been doing some hand embroidery, working on a company t-shirt. It's a great, inexpensive alternative to buying a screen printed t-shirt if you can't afford it. Have you learned to do embroidery? Craftsy has a great post to help you learn hand embroidery. There are so many different stitches, you can create many beautiful designs.
