Do you have makeup, mascara, brushes, and toiletries scattered around your room or bathroom, making it hard to stay organized? May we suggest another option for you. When surfing Youtube, we came across a tutorial for a wristlet/cosmetic bag from The Crafty Gemini. We whipped one up , using a curtain purchased at Goodwill, whose fabric resembled a canvas type material. It was pretty simple to make, and all you need is the fabric, thread, batting, and zipper. The benefit of buying your materials from Goodwill is that you pay much less than buying at the major fabric stores. So if you're on a strict budget, find a large enough item made of a canvas type fabric. Also look for an article of clothing that has a long enough zipper in a matching color, and purchase them both from Goodwill and you'll save a lot of money. As a tip, it's better to have too long of a zipper than too short because you can always shorten the zipper. So with no further ado, here's the rundown of our experience making it. There weren't any issues making this bag but we can give you a tip. Use a ruler if you decide to stitch diagonal lines across the bag so that they are evenly spaced and straight. Woops! When making the bag, we accidentally sewed it all the way around before inserting the strap. Instead of removing the stitches and starting over, we simply stitched the strap to the outside. To reinforce, we stitched across several times. It's less conspicuous but works well enough. All in all, the tutorial was great. It was a bit fast, so the pause and stop buttons are your friend for this one. We were pretty pleased with the results so I hope you find this useful in determining whether you want to make one and share it with us when you do.
