Saturday was Small Business Saturday. Did you shop small? Well we've been busy virtually visiting small fabric stores. Yes, there ARE other places to shop for your fabric besides JoAnn's. If you haven't ventured to any other fabric stores, here is a list of some to try...
We're so thankful to have spent this Thanksgiving with family. Hope everyone was able to do the same. Crafting projects for the holidays can make your event more memorable and home felt. This year we crafted a Thanksgiving wreath. Made from a wire hanger, mesh ribbon, tulle, ribbon, and sun flowers, it was easy to make and pretty inexpensive.
We're so excited to announce that we've added a new feature to our sidebar! If you enjoy reading our blog or simply want to help spread the word about us, scroll down the sidebar and grab the code to embed on your site.

Simplicity Costumes For Kids Pattern 3650 While shopping at one of our favorite stores during the Halloween season, I bought the Simplicity Costumes For Kids pattern 3650 and was very pleased with the finished product. There were actually four pattern pairs in one: girl and boy pirate , nurse and doctor, cow boy and cowgirl, girl and boy chefs. Quite thrifty for anyone on a budget, especially since the price was reasonably low.
The recommended fabrics listed on the packaging made it easy to select and purchase fabrics. The photos of the adorable kids on the front of the packaging also helped to give an idea of the types of fabrics to look for. Got creator's block? Not sure what to do for your next project? Well here's a list of our top 5 go-to sources for inspiration and project ideas. Of course there are tons out there but we've narrowed it down to the ones we use consistently, in no particular order.
We're always interested in learning new things and improving techniques. We find many online videos which help do just that so we'd like to share them with you. Each week we'll feature a video that we found that has helpful tips, tricks, tutorials, and information. Searching around on YouTube, I came across Mimi G. She offers tutorials and lots of helpful information on sewing techniques. Check out her tutorial video on sewing shorts and pants. It just might inspire you to whip up a little something for yourself! During the journey of building our website, we came across several features that are not available with the free version of Weebly. One of those being breadcrumb navigation. You know, the links found at the top of many websites that link you back to the previous page you were on and also provide you with a means to back track through the pages you previously visited. Actually, the feature is available when you build a store but since only 5 products are allowed in the store with the free version, we were left with the problem of how to incorporate this feature on the rest of our pages.
We've been busy creating our new website! Many hours go into building the website and there are many things we had to consider. The first and most important was choosing which platform to use. We narrowed our choices down to SquareSpace and Weebly. We ultimately decided to go with Weebly because it has the least amount of letters in the domain name and the editor is pretty straight forward and easy to use. We are currently using the free version with plans to upgrade soon.
