"Say Something, I'm Giving Up On You." That's what A Great Big World said, and we say if you can't say it with words, why not say it in style with a statement tee? Statement tee's are the current trend, and you can cash in on the trend by designing your tee on a budget, and saving the remaining money you would have spent on a t-shirt from a department store for your rainy day fund.

The second weekend of Coachella has come and gone but we're still reminiscing, so we're bringing you some Coachella outfit projects you can work on for next year. A nice spring look is jean shorts or skirt with a bikini or crop top. You can find some cute knitted ones on Etsy at a reasonable price. Or follow along with coolirpa's YouTube video to make a bikini top. As for the shorts, we LOVE this really fun video demonstrating 4 different short projects suitable for Coachella. Not only are they cute but they look super easy to make. So give it a try and don't forget to accessorize your outfit with a cute wide brimmed hat to keep the sun off of your face.
A story of love during the Armenian genocide, promising revenge through survival, The Promise stars actress Angela Sarafyan. Known for her role as Clemintine Pennyfeather in Westworld, we recently saw photos of the dress she wore to the movie's premiere.
Apparently the metallic skirt trend is all the rage this Spring. A metallic skirt can be a bit daunting to pull off in style. Which is why you may be wondering how you can incorporate it into your outfit. We've got a few quick and easy tips to help you achieve the look.
We think you'll like this week's Video Of The Week that we're sharing from our YouTube finds. It gives you instructions on 5 cool things you probably never knew you could do with your sewing machine. If you've ever struggled with a Rolled Hem Foot, you'll definitely want to see this. You'll also get tips on how to do embroidery, pouncing, yarn drawings, and button holes. All without any special accessories. My favorites are the embroidery and button hole. Take a look and let us know which is your favorite. Do you have any tips to share? Share those with us in the comments below. As always, happy sewing! On a scale of 1 to 10, what would you rate this outfit? We give it a 4. Though the red adds a pop of contrasting color to the polka dot pattern, the cropped "wrap" sweater detracts from the cuteness of the halter styled dress. Perhaps it would have been better suited to wear the dress without the top, show some skin and accessorize with bangles and earrings. Recently, we were given the opportunity to be a judge at the Annual FCCLA State Leadership Meeting, and this is what we wore. Today is the day. We have finally completed our Little Black Dress Challenge. As you may know, it's been a while since we first announced our Little Black Dress Challenge. If you're searching for that perfect LBD staple for your wardrobe, you could try Guess' Pia Criss Cross dress, and accessorize it with their G Lux Zip Around Wristlet , or another accessory like the Flexi Criss Cross bracelet. OR...you can do like we did and accept our challenge to sew one.
Do you have basic slopers that you use to start your dress patterns? If not, you might find this video useful. This week we're sharing a YouTube video we found on drafting basic sleeve patterns. What we like about the video is that the YouTuber shows you how to calculate some of the measurements needed to create the basic sleeve pattern. We hope you find this video helpful and enjoy this week's Video Of The Week! If you've been following us for a while, you know that we challenged you to a Little Black Dress challenge and never re-visited it...until now.
We're still working on our Little Black Dress Challenge, and we hope you are too. What type of dress are you creating? Strapless or strapped? If you're working on a dress that has straps, you might find this week's Video Of The Week helpful. We're sharing a video we found on YouTube that demonstrates tips and tricks on creating straps for your dress. We especially love the loop turner tool used to make turning the straps to the right side easier. Not to mention the fabulous nails that the demonstrator is wearing. So check it out, and hopefully this will help further your Little Black Dress project! |
