Halloween Costume Ideas For You To Try

Do you have your Halloween costume yet?  We found a free pattern from Fleece Fun and we're using it to work on a Game Of Thrones costume.  We're creating a costume similar to the Jaqen H'ghar character.  You can check out our Instagram for pics of our Work In Progress.  The pattern calls for fleece fabric  which can be purchased at any fabric store like Jo Ann's.  But we'll let you in on a little tip for those on a tight budget.  We simply purchased a fleece blanket for about $1.99 at the 99 Cent Store.  After assembling the pattern, turns out we'll need to get another blanket to create it.  Speaking of tips, do you have any tips and tricks you'd like to share?  If so, share it with us in the comments.  We love to hear from you.

But in the meantime, we thought we'd help out and leave you with a list of free Halloween Costume Ideas you could try.  That is if you don't have one in mind yet.  So with no further ado, here is our list.

1.  Whose Afraid Of A Wicked Witch?

Not us.  First up, a classic.  This witch tutu  project from JoAnn's seems very easy and inexpensive to make.  It uses tulle, sheer fabric, and ribbon.  All of which are very inexpensive.   But never fear if you're a crocheter, we've got you covered with this witches hat and shawl from RedHeart Yarns.

2.  "Bright Young Women, Sick Of Swimming, Ready To Stand"

Who didn't love The Little Mermaid?  Another all-time classic.  Get your inner Ariel on with this mermaid costume project from JoAnn's.  Its listed as Advanced so if you're a beginner you might want to try a different choice.   Perhaps you're a chrocheter.  In that case, try this crochet pattern from RedHeart Yarns.

3. "Spread Your Wings And Prepare To Fly," Create A Costume As A Butterfly

Create an easy-peasy butterfly costume with this free pattern from Martha Stewart.  All you need is felt, foam, pipe cleaners, elastic, and a head band.  Once again perfect for those on a tight budget.

4.  Ahoy Matey...Give Me Your Treasure Or Be Forced To Walk The Plank

Last but not least, you can try your hand at this Pirate sew-a-long from Babylock.  The main materials are pillow cases!  You've probably got some extra ones laying around at home that you can use, eliminating the need to buy the material.

We're still working on ours, so follow us on Instagram to see the results.  And don't forget to share your Halloween ideas with us in the comments!
