We plan to make this project as one of our holiday gifts. When completed, we'll share it with you and hope that you will share some of your holiday crafting with us in the comments below. If you find great items at your local thrift store, let us know which store. Who doesn't love a great thrift store with excellent bargains!
The holidays are upon us and you're probably looking for the perfect gifts for your loved ones, family, and friends. The challenge? Finding gifts that are heartfelt but still within your budget. After a day of shopping, we've got a tip to share with you that will help make your gifting easier and give you an idea for holiday crafts to fit your budget. The tip? Make a few gifts yourself. If you choose this route, you'll want to start really early so that your projects will be finished in time for the holiday. Choose a local thrift shop to find great items for your project at a phenomenal price. You'll also want to check with the store to find out if they offer weekly discounts and/or promotions. We found the above photoed McCalls pattern at the local GoodWill. The price tag was only $1.99 and to top it off there was an additional 50% weekly discount. So we ended up only paying about $1 for the pattern. Not only that, but we found two other patterns for the same price. SCORE! To continue staying within your budget, try to utilize materials you already have at home. When we make/sew this pattern, we plan to use our fabric scraps and stash, along with poly-fill and yarn that we already have. This way, we eliminate having to buy more fabrics and materials.
