The secret to the beautiful head wraps fashioned by the models is the lovely elegant fabric used. Having had the opportunity to participate as a model, I saw first hand how much work, effort, and care goes into putting on such an event. Outfits were coordinated ahead of time and each wrap was carefully coordinated to match the model's outfit. Juanita was the secret to success because she was able to quickly whip up each wrap in a matter of minutes. You'd be astonished to see her in action. If you couldn't be there live, just watch the video and you'll see what we mean. If you're impressed, as we are, head on over to her website and get your wrap!
Continuing our series on local events, we participated in a FABULOUS event last Sunday. A fashion show for a non-profit organization, the National Alliance of Free Women Inc. An organization that promotes the empowerment of women. Headed by Dr. Mary McBean, they were able to pull off an extremely successful event. The event featured head wraps from Juanita Morris of Bold Look Head Wraps and Clothing. If you get a chance, check out her website. You'll find beautiful head wraps, perfect for those days when you don't feel like doing your hair, or even if you're just having a bad hair day. And more importantly, you'll find tutorials to help you achieve those beautiful looks! We tried this one below and surprisingly it actually came out pretty good. But I digress. Back to the event. The fashion show was complete with beautiful women strutting their stuff on the cat walk to the music of Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation and Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground. In between, there was a table setting contest. Contestants elegantly decorated tables with delicate china tea cups and saucers. Celebrations, music, dancing and food took place in between the fashion show cycles. Attendees also had the opportunity to shop at the various vendor booths located outside of the facility at the Cottonwood Golf Center.
